That’s my name. Don’t wear it out.
“Pockets” isn’t my real name. And it wasn’t really on my list of “100 Favorite Nicknames” either. But my friends gave it to me, so I love it and cherish it. Or something.
As evident from the photo of 9 year old me, I learned to ski as a kid, and, maybe not as evident, I learned it in the Alps and went skiing there almost every winter well into college age, so I have high expectations. I like tall and rugged mountains, well-groomed slopes, powdery snow, short lift lines, beautiful vistas and pretty little ski villages.
I also like adventure, snowstorms, exploring, and – to balance it out – good food and good drinks at the end of a long day. Preferably curled up with dear friends in front of a blazing fireplace.

On the practical side of things, I’m a big believer in “proper planning prevents poor performance”, which means getting the logistics right ahead of time so you don’t have to worry about the small (or not-so-small) stuff during your precious time on the mountain. Excel is your friend. 😎
On the artsy side of things, I enjoy photography and thus will also contribute some of my favorite shots, along with tips and tricks for creating your own visual memories of epic ski vacations. Let’s go!
